ACCOLADES
My wife and I had a great stay at the Beloit Haus this past weekend. What an incredible place. The house is a show stopper. It feels like you walked onto the set of a 1950’s movie — they even had a record player with spinning out tunes from cocktail lounge crooners to set the mood! There’s a great living area as well as a fun hangout spot back by the bedrooms with games, records and a period cocktail bar. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was great for us but we could also imagine booking a couple of rooms for a family gathering– there was just so much space to enjoy in the Haus. We also really enjoyed the incredible peaceful spot on the covered back deck looking over acres of peaceful lawn and gardens. That’s where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Best of all was the host, Tom. He’s welcoming, easy going and made our stay a real pleasure. We enjoyed getting to share this great space with him. We will absolutely stay here again. ~ Matt, Washington, D.C.
“Board of Directors”, 1955 by Clark Fitz-Gerald (1917–2004)
We treasure this original 10′ outdoor metal sculpture that welcomes visitors to Beloit Haus. Beloit industrialist Elbert H. Neese commissioned Clark Fitz-Gerald to create the piece for his new home in 1955. Fitz-Gerald was chairman of the Department of Art at Beloit College at the time, and went on to become well-known for his works made of wood, metal and stone. His original art piece located at our entrance is just an example of the loving preservation of this fine Mid-Century home.
